30 years ago work and the people doing it were predictable, roles were homogenous, and workflows were static. But today work, team and personal priorities change constantly. Businesses are consciously or unconsciously already redesigning work regularly as people change roles, get promoted, take leave and more - but it's usually reactive and chaotic. Beamible is leading the way with a strategic and data-led approach.
Co-founders and Co-CEOs, Stephanie Reuss and Victoria Stuart, are long time friends who have always shared a feeling of frustration and discontentment with the outdated and broken work model that’s been around for centuries. Why are all roles created the same when people have such different needs?
They were determined to flip the FTE on its head, have more consideration for gender equality and create a solution that would fundamentally allow people to work in a better way. While there’d always been discussion about these problems, no one had found a solution yet. In time, Beam was born - a jobs marketplace for flexible and part-time roles to test the appetite for an alternative way of working.
What they discovered was incredible. By adding flexible work opportunities, they were able to increase female workforce participation. It also became apparent that demand for part-time roles outstrips supply, and it’s only been amplified by the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.
This begged a new question: why don’t more organisations use non-traditional role structures to retain and attract talent?
Beam conducted a research study and identified 7 major barriers to the successful implementation of flex work, flagging the lack of role design as a critical gap in nearly every organisation. It became overwhelmingly clear that the global workforce needed a scalable technology solution with role design at the very heart of it.
And Beamible was born.
